There’s something oddly satisfying in giving a shove to a 15-foot-high metal cube that appears to be rooted in concrete, then watching the whole giant thing spin silently around. So it is with the sculpture most Wolverines call “the Cube” (formal name: “Endover”), located on a plaza outside the main administration building at the University of Michigan. It’s so satisfying, in fact, that school legend says the University president gives it a push on the way in to work each day—just to make sure the University gets going in the morning.
